RISKS AND KILL CONDITIONS — INTERNAL ==================================== File: risks_and_kill_conditions.txt Last updated: 28-Aug-2025 Owner: Principal Investigator (redacted) READ FIRST ---------- This file enumerates subjective risks and automatic stop rules for single-operator sessions. Not medical advice. Do not replicate. Several sections are [REDACTED] for safety and sanity. RISK CATEGORIES (non-exhaustive) -------------------------------- Physiological – dizziness, nausea, head pressure – photophobia / afterimages (especially under flicker) – transient tinnitus / “air pressure” sensation Perceptual / Cognitive – intrusive “music” or verbal fragments – time discontinuities / memory gaps – depersonalization / derealization – pareidolia in noise and shadow Environmental / Equipment – thermal runaway (workstation) – excessive audio levels (headphones) – visual fatigue under poor lighting AUTOMATIC KILL CONDITIONS (software) ------------------------------------ • KILL_AFTER (KA) expires → immediate stop. • Phase-lock unlock storm detected → step back schedule or stop. • Identity Anchor desync beyond tolerance → stop or reduce BW/G. • Loop stall detected by watchdog → stop. OPERATOR STOP RULES (subjective) -------------------------------- Stop immediately if ANY of the following occur: – sustained nausea or vertigo – inability to type or read console coherently – bright-field persistence after eyes closed – sense of “lost time” or sudden scene change – escalating fear without clear source EMERGENCY PROCEDURE (single-operator) ------------------------------------- 1) Power down workstation; remove headphones; sit. 2) Eyes closed; slow breathing; lights on steady (no flicker). 3) Water; low-stim environment; document only after baseline returns. 4) Sleep ≥ 8h before any decision to continue. REDUCTIONS (preventive) ----------------------- • Keep BW low and ramp slow. Tomorrow exists. • Keep IA = TRUE. • Do not stack late-night sessions. • Maintain steady ambient light; no high-contrast strobing. • Keep volumes modest; no isochronic/binaural experiments. If the field is real, it will still be real tomorrow. If the self is a lock, yanking harder unfastens it.
